…and now a video using the SKETCH touch effect.

A few days ago, we posted some cool looking photos taken in NYC using the SKETCH touch effect. But SKETCH also works amazingly well when you use it to record video and capture things which are moving all around you. Check out this video of the same NYC streets using SKETCH. A friend told us that it reminded her of that Aha music video from a generation ago (Take on me)! Check it out – it’s only 10 seconds.

Recording this is about as simple as you get – Just start Spotliter, go into video capture mode, select SKETCH and move your finger on the screen to see what part of the screen you want in SKETCH mode and what part you want to record “unfiltered.” Start recording. That’s it. You can even move your finger around on the screen while recording to change the sketch area.

It was warm outside for the first time in a while here in midtown Manhattan – so started walking around taking pictures with Spotliter and really got into the SKETCH touch effect for some reason. Just slide or tap your finger on what you want to look “real” and snap your photo. Pretty simple.

Spotliter now takes Photos, not just Video! Introducing Spotliter 1.1

Hi Everyone!  We are very excited to announce that we have launched a major new update, Spotliter version 1.1.  Get it now.

What’s new?

PHOTOS! The app now allows users to use all those great touch effects to take photos in addition to recording video.  Don’t worry though – the app is just as simple and clutter free as before.  We’ve added just one button to the screen that you tap to switch between photo and video modes.

New Touch Effects!  There are now 15 touch effects that you can use in photo mode and 15 you can use in video mode.  We love the new effects and hope you will too.  They include JUXTAPOSE, HORIZON, DOTS, CHIAROSCURO (replacing VINTAGE)  all of which work for photo and video and SANDPAINT  which is for photos only.

Our personal favorites of the new effects are HORIZON and JUXTAPOSE, followed closely by CHIAROSCURO, all of which work great for photos and videos.  The first two also allow you to make some pretty freaky-looking photos or video plus photo mashups.  We also found that most of the original touch effects look great for photos, especially B&W2COLOR, POSTERIZE, FREEZE and OVERLAY.

Improvements.  Many enhancements have been made to existing effects to make them and the captured photos and videos richer and clearer, more responsive to touch and offering more options for manipulating effects.

Removed.  UNCOVER and VINTAGE effects have been removed.

We hope you will enjoying using this new version as much as we do.  We would love to see and feature the Spotliter photos and videos you make so please tag them with #spotliter when you share them on your favorite sites and social networks.
